I hope you have better luck with the Merc. Did it come with controls? Did you get to test it? I hope this motor doesn't make you  `2` and you get out soon.

Yeah, it runs like a champ so far! Just got it bolted up this morning & I got it home & ran it on the hose for a while. Seems to run without issues. I've attached a few pics. Hope they work & look good.    !>?

I will be taking her out for a maiden voyage this coming weekend. I haven't decided where to fish yet. I guess either way, fishing is fishing & some is better than none.

Has anyone renewed thier license yet?    ~0~   I did mine about a week ago. It will be a shame at the 1st of the year when the price jacks up!    `2`

My license expires in Dec. The $10 snook stamp is the part I am not happy about.

And if this board has an award for perseverence, you should get it, no problem.  :A

I went for the five year snook stamp when i heard about the price increase.  I also heard that you can get a life time pass for a small fortune.  I think if you have lived in florida for more than five years you should not have to have a license, but i understand why they enforce the license.  I hate when i see a guy fishing a pier with a goliath or a 20'' snook on a stringer. $#@

Nick, my buddy & I went out this past Saturday in the harbor to find some snook & reds. We had no luck.    ~9~    We left the Harbor Heights boat ramp at about 6:30 or so & headed towards the 41 bridge to try & fish the early morning shadows. We didn't have any luck there, so we headed to a little spot I know just after the I-75 bridge to try for some redfish. The tide was out & still going out at the time, so we were just idleing through about 2ft. of water & it kept getting shallower, but we all wanted to get something decent so we lifted the motor & tried to troll our way through. Needless to say, we got stuck in about ankle deep water, almost to the spot. Nick & my buddy jumped out & pulled it as far as they could, then I had to get in & lend a hand as the water got even shallower!    ^    It wore us all out pretty good pulling the boat trough the knee high muck. We finally got it back into deeper water & started fishing the shore line, still nothing. We tried everything we had in our arsenal & no luck, live bait, poppers, plugs, divers, you name it & we tried it.    :'(    We even went up river & hit up the Shell Creek Trussel, we did manage to pull a few small cats from there, but nothing worth bragging about.    $#^~    We decided to call it a day at around 2pm or so. We took a ride up to Liverpool boat ramp & headed back in to load the boat up. Even though we didn't catch anything, it was still worth it to get out & have an awesome afternoon with some friends.

I do have a question though, does anyone know, what a milky looking substance in my carbs can be?    ~0~    I am pretty sure it means there is water involved somehow, but this is a 2-stroke engine, so I am pretty sure it doesn't mean blown head gasket or anything serious like that. Please, throw me some suggestions, I don't want to dump a bunch of money into this engine too.    ))`    It might just be water in the fuel, but I checked the fuel in the filter & pumped it out of the line coming from the tank & all looked to be good, minus a little debris in the filter. Also, I have an inline water separator on it.

Sounds like you had a good day. It's great just to be out on the water, even if you have to walk the boat sometimes.  +#$ The water's still pretty warm so maybe they haven't moved up the creeks yet.
As far as the carbs go, if you are pre-mixing, water in the fuel should turn it a little milky. But it should show in the fuel and there should be water in your separator. Try pulling the plugs and see if there is any residue on them. Did the boat run OK? You might of had some condensation in the carbs from sitting. If you can, drain them and shoot some cleaner in. Run it again and see if you get the same thing. When you pumped some gas, did you pull a line off the carbs and sample it there? A blown head gasket would show more on the plugs than the carbs. Keep us posted.

Any day on the is still a good day as far as I’m concerned.
Still it is nice to catch some fish. ;~D

Beats my weekend, I worked on the boat a little on Friday than I was sick the rest of the weekend.
So not much done on the boat. I was hoping to get it back in the water and do some fishing.

But you know how that goes.

Don’t know about the white stuff in your carbs, do you have a separator filter installed?

I just sold my boat yesterday. I'll be in the market for a newer flats boat soon. I'm going to be fishing from shore for a couple weeks, but it'll be worth it to have a nice new boat!

I'm not too fond of skiffs. I don't like the way they ride. Did you post it on CL yet?

Yeah, I've wanted to sell it for a long time. I've always wanted a flats boat & now that I've sold my bass boat, I have the oppurtunity to buy one!    ;~D    I have a good bit of money to throw at one, but I have to wait for the right thing to come my way I guess. I've been looking for something like a Maverick, a Hewes, or a Pathfinder. ALL of those boats are high dollar, but if you wait for long enough or just find someone who is desperatly in need of money, you can find a decent one for a good price. The worst part is the waiting for sure.     %1%

You'll more than likely be one of the first people to go out on my new boat & hit the flats with me Nick,     ~`6    don't worry on that one!    :A

If you know someone selling a nice flats boat for a good price, let me know!     ~~!

Went out for a nice ride today on the river. Me & my neighbor brought our poles, but didn't get a chance to do any fishing. The wind was unbelievable! Not to say that it was crazy, but it was pretty strong. If we would've tried to cast, we would've missed by a mile in any direction. It was a nice ride though!     ^-^    I didn't see as many gators as I thought I would, usually they are out sun bathing on the banks.
